A satin circle skirt can be a staple for belly dance costuming -- add a coin scarf for a basic costume, or a bedlah (bra and belt) for a more professional look. |
100% silk veils have a property all their own that allows you to "catch air" under them and create a lovely billowing effect while you dance.

Velvet burnout shawls are wonderful for laying over "gypsy" skirts, on top of fringe belts, or under coin scarves, for both cabaret and Tribal costuming.

This is a lovely beginning level costume at an almost unheard-of low price! Save money while you impress your audience! Perfect for student troupe members. | |
I own a crop top exactly like this, and I find it indispensable for practicing, teaching, casual costuming, and performances which call for more coverage. Works for both cabaret and Tribal costumes.

A unitard is just the thing for class, for teachers and students alike. Netting over the abdomen provides support with enough visibility to see abdominal isolations.

This beautiful velvet coin scarf has interesting coin placement, comes in a wide array of colors, and the velvet fabric will help keep the scarf from sliding down on your hips. |
I own one of these little beauties, and find it a very attractive, comfortable, versatile, and economical way to get into costume. Best of all, the regular bra hooks will not come open as costume bra hooks often do, so you can dance reassured of no costume malfunctions! It is easy to add some beading to the center if you like more ornamentation.

| Amazon Customer Review: First let me say that I have been costuming in the Belly Dance/Middle Eastern Dance market for well over 25 years. That said I found this book to be very informative and helpful. From the very technical aspects to the duct tape method of making a perfect fitting belt. The illustrations are plentiful and inspirational. I own it and use it myself. And recommend it... |
| Amazon Customer Review:
I am a dance costumer designer with 30 years experience...having made my share of beautiful dance bras, I thought I'd mastered it all...until last night, when I was attempting to cover a D-cup with glittery spandex that showed every tiny flaw in my draping technique. I was about to give up until I paid attention to the little voice in my head whispering, "Would would Davina do?"...and got out this book, which my wonderful husband bought me this Christmas. |
