About my teaching style...I am a patient and encouraging teacher, adjusting the pace of instruction to the individual needs of each student.  I am trained in the classical Egyptian cabaret style.  This is a very "internalized" form of belly dance, using muscle isolations to produce both graceful, flowing movements and subtle accents.  I use classical, folkloric, and modern pop Egyptian music in my belly dance classes.  I encourage my students to study zills (finger cymbals) and veil work with me, as they are both an important part of belly dance training.  I also teach floor work, "Shaabi" or modern Egyptian street dance, Egyptian folkloric dance such as "Raks Asaya", which literally translates to "stick dance", a folkloric cane dance, and "Khaleegi", a folk dance from the Gulf region of Egypt.
